Dear All, It gives me immense pleasure to invite to the website of RLTRI and ROHFW, MoHFW,GOI,Raipur, Chhattisgarh State. The main aim of this website is to disseminate information and field activities about Regional Leprosy Training and Research Institute (RLTRI) and Regional Office of Health and Family Welfare (ROHFW) as well as to get inputs. Regional Leprosy Training and Research Institute, Raipur established in the year 1979 with the objective to provide specialized treatment in the field of Leprosy, Research and toprovide training to the various categories of Medical Personnel viz. Para Medical, Medical Officer etc. At present in the changed scenario i.e. after integration of Leprosy services with General Health Care Services, this institute has been given responsibility to provideNLEP programme management training to the various categories of Officers (SLO ,DLO and BMO) and other health Personnel Like Physiotherapist ,Para Medical ,Multipurpose workers etc. The training to the District Health Authorities in Disability Prevention and Medical Rehabilitation (DPMR) at this Institute as well as in the District HQ. We are also conducting Re-constructive Surgeries in the Institute regularly and by organizing Re-Constructive Surgery camp at district HQ. Other type of Disability Like poliomyelitis were also corrected through camps at institute. Govt of India has entrusted additional responsibility pertaining to the field of Medical Rehabilitation with special reference to Polio reconstructive surgery under 12th five year plan, Ministry has provided financial assistance for phase wise development as Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centers. A 75 beded hospital is functioning for the above mentioned purpose and we are treating leprosy patients suffering from problematic ulcer, reaction etc. also. This Institute has been also designated as Regional Office Health and Family Welfare for the State of Chhattisgarh in year 2005 and have been assigned additional responsibility as follows- (i) Capacity building for integrated disease surveillance program. (ii) Epidemiology Training Courses as undertaken by the National Institute of Communicable Disease, Delhi. (iii) Lymphatic Filariasis (Disability Management and related training). (iv) Microscopy and DOT centers under RNTCP. (v) Operational Research related to RNTCP. (vi) Voluntary Counselling Centers (VCC) and diagnostic center for HIV/AIDS. (vii) Disaster management in respect of the state. (viii) Technical Supervision of Various National Health Program especially Malaria (ix) Field surveys as and required by Ministry (x) Client verification of ANC,PNC,JSY, Contraceptives, Immunization Through continued activities during past years, the Institute has built up expertise in various aspects of National Health Programmes, which has been quite useful in planning , monitoring and evaluation of National Health programmes.
